The requirements for the quality management system, the ISO 9001:2026 standard, has been revised after 11 years.
The revision covers several areas:
- climate change is included directly in the text of the standard
- opportunities and risks are in separate chapters (opportunities are given more attention)
- Management must promote both a culture of quality and ethical behavior (a new requirement is emerging focused on the culture of quality and ethical behavior of the organization.)
- A clear link between the quality policy and the organization’s strategy
- reduction of informative annexes (Annex A has been recast and Annex B has been deleted)
